Joel Kibazo, a former diplomat and journalist, is the founding partner of JK Asssociates, a London based public affairs consultancy focused on Africa.
Before founding JK Associates, he was official Spokesperson and Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the   Commonwealth Secretariat.
For the decade before that he was a journalist at The Financial Times. He was also a reporter and presenter of many radio and television programmes for the BBC.
Joel is an Associate Fellow on The Africa Programme at Chatham House, a committee member of the Centre for the study of African Economies at the University of Oxford, The Royal African Society, London, and the Caine Prize for African Literature. He remains on the judging panel of the CNN Africa journalist of the year.
He holds a BA in Social Sciences, an MA in International economics and economic development and an MBA (international business and marketing).
